Simple Friends vs. Real Friends

Today, I've been especailly thankful for my friends! I am really amazed at how much I depend on my friends, mainly my girlfriends. We have a special thing going on...we ladies, that is. I think it's amazing how God places specific people in our lives to help us get through life here on earth. Today, I thank you all for the friendships that we share...you know who you are! Here is a little something that I found that I think is really fitting.

A simple friend identifies himself when he calls.
A real friend doesn't have to.
A simple friend opens a conversation with a full news bulletin on his life.
A real friend says, "What's new with you?"
A simple friend thinks the problems you whine about are recent.
A real friend says, "You've been whining about the same thing for 14 years. Get off your duff and do something about it."
A simple friend has never seen you cry.
A real friend has shoulders soggy from your tears.
A simple friend doesn't know your parents' first names.
A real friend has their phone numbers in his address book.
A simple friend brings a bottle of wine to your party.
A real friend comes early to help you cook and stays late to help you clean.
A simple friend hates it when you call after he has gone to bed.
A real friend asks you why you took so long to call.
A simple friend seeks to talk with you about your problems.
A real friend seeks to help you with your problems.
A simple friend wonders about your romantic history.
A real friend could blackmail you with it.
A simple friend, when visiting, acts like a guest.
A real friend opens your refrigerator and helps himself.
A simple friend thinks the friendship is over when you have an argument.
A real friend knows that it's not a friendship until after you've had a fight.
A simple friend expects you to always be there for them.
A real friend expects to always be there for you!

My favorite day!!

You might know this about me already, but I am a sucker for the 'ol e-mail surveys! I can't pass them up! If I get one that has even one or two questions on it that I've never seen, you better believe I'm going to pass it on! I apologize to those of you who hate them, yet continue to receive them from me! Anyway, if you've gotten one from me that poses the question, "What is your favorite day of the week?", my answer is always "Wednesday." Not Saturday, like most, but Wednesday. It's probably one of my more hectic days, but in the end, it's the best day of the week. It seems that no matter how hurried my day has been, if I can get myself to worship, it all just melts away.

I am so blessed to worship with my brothers and sisters at Cross Point (formerly known as Darby Drive, for those of you who might not know!). I love our Wednesday night assembly SO much that it has become the highlight of my week. I think it has really become the highlight for many of our number. I guess it's been about 2 years ago that we started "Peak of the Week" and is has just gotten to be a great blessing to so many! The songs we've learned...they are worded in such a way that I feel like I am speaking to my Lord directly from my heart! I LOVE to sing them with my family!! It is such an intimate setting where people feel more free to worship with hands held high, if they choose, and it makes me so happy! I love getting there early, as hard as it might be with the kids, and singing with my brothers and sisters that I have grown closer to and come to respect more than ever since our "group" has been formed. My kids can't wait to worship...they are excited about "going to church!" I pray that they will always have that attitude and that our worship will continue to grow and change and be the kind of setting where everyone will feel the presence of God!

Go and have a blessed Wednesday!!

Have I completely lost it??

OK...here I am! This is ridiculous! I have nothing noteworthy to talk about, I've already become addicted to myspace, and my house is going to fall in around me because all I do is sit here in front of the computer....yet here I sit!

I have always enjoyed reading everyone elses blogs, but never dreamed that I would have my own. I will read others and think, "Wow, they are so creative!" "Who would've thought that you could make that topic interesting?" There aren't many things exciting in my life, so you might get bored very quickly if you stumble across this blog! I don't want to become Kathie Lee Gifford....telling story after story about my kids, but that is really my only source of excitement!

This is just a "warm-up" post, so bear with me as a learn about being a blogger! Not only do I need to come up with things to talk about, I have to figure out how to set up this page...i.e., uploading a picture, etc...

Hope you have a great evening! I plan on eating a good dinner with my husband (the kids are at the in-laws) and watching American Idol! It doesn't get much more romantic than that! HA!
